How pricing works at an emergency visit
Dental emergencies are hard to price over the phone, because two toothaches can have very different causes. So we split the visit into two steps.

- Exam and X-ray. The dentist examines the problem tooth and takes the X-ray needed to see what's going on. For patients paying without insurance, that's $99.
- A written price before treatment. Once we know the cause, we explain your options and write down the price of each one. You decide what to do. Nothing is started until you agree.
You're never committed to treatment just because you came in for the exam. Some people go ahead that day. Others take the written price home to think it over or check with their plan.
What "minimum fee" means
Florida asks dental offices to describe an advertised fee clearly. The $99 is the starting fee for the emergency exam and X-ray when you're paying on your own. It covers a limited exam focused on the tooth that's bothering you (ADA code D0140), along with the X-ray needed to diagnose it.
It doesn't include fillings, root canals, extractions, crowns, medicine or follow-up visits. Those depend on what the exam finds. We don't advertise treatment prices, because guessing before we've seen your tooth wouldn't be honest. You'll get the real number in writing instead.
Dental insurance we accept
We accept most PPO and HMO dental plans and Medicare Advantage dental plans. If you have one of those, the exam and X-ray are billed to your plan, and you pay whatever share your plan leaves to you.
Plans differ in what they cover, how much is left on your yearly maximum and whether a waiting period applies. Bring your insurance card, and call the number on the back if you'd like to check your coverage before your visit. We'll give you the written treatment price either way, so you can compare.
Original Medicare doesn't cover most routine dental care. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan with dental benefits, bring that card.
We do not accept Medicaid. If you have Medicaid dental coverage, you're still welcome as a patient paying without insurance, with the same $99 exam and a written price for any treatment.
Payment options and financing
We take cash and major credit and debit cards. For larger treatment, there are a few ways to spread the cost:
- In-house payment plans arranged directly with our office.
- Sunbit financing.
- Cherry financing.
- CareCredit financing.
Each financing company sets its own terms and approval decisions. Our front desk can explain how to apply when you're here, and you can decide after you've seen your treatment price.
What affects the cost of treatment
The price of emergency care depends on what's wrong and how much work it takes to fix. A few things make the biggest difference:
- Which tooth. A front tooth has one root; a back molar can have three or four. That changes the work involved in a root canal.
- Simple or surgical. A tooth above the gum comes out more simply than one broken at the gumline or stuck underneath. See emergency tooth extraction.
- How much tooth is left. A small chip might need bonding. A large break might need a crown. Broken tooth repair explains the options.
- Infection. An abscess may need draining first and medicine alongside the main treatment.
Getting seen early often keeps the fix smaller, and the cost lower.
