Yes. Emergency Dentist in Lake Worth, on Hypoluxo Rd in western Lake Worth, is open on Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM for dental emergencies. Call (561) 652-5796 first so we can hold you a time. After 2:00 PM, the phone is still answered.
Sunday is the day dental pain feels most stuck. Many offices are closed, the weekend has dragged on, and a tooth that hurt a little on Friday may be throbbing now. Here's how Sunday dental care works at our office, what counts as worth a Sunday visit, and what to do if the problem starts after we close.
Our Sunday hours, and the rest of the week
| Day | Office hours |
|---|---|
| Sunday | 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM |
| Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM |
| Saturday | 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM |
Those are chairside hours: a dentist is in the office treating patients. Our phone line is answered 24/7, including Sunday afternoon and night.

How to get a Sunday appointment
- Call before you come. We don't take walk-ins, even on weekends. Calling lets us hold a time and have a room ready.
- Describe what's going on. Which tooth, when it started, whether there's swelling or a fever, and whether anything broke or came out.
- Come in at your time. Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, and any tooth or crown that came out, kept moist in milk.
- Get a diagnosis and written prices. The dentist examines the tooth, takes an X-ray and explains your options. Treatment starts only after you agree.
Earlier is better. Sunday hours end at 2:00 PM, and calling in the morning gives you the most choice of times.
What's worth a Sunday visit
Some dental problems can wait until Monday, and some shouldn't. A Sunday visit makes sense for:
- A toothache that's throbbing, kept you up or isn't helped by pain relievers (toothache relief).
- Swelling in the gum or face, or a gum bump with a bad taste (abscess treatment).
- A tooth that broke and hurts, or left a sharp edge (broken tooth repair).
- A knocked-out or loosened adult tooth. Call immediately (knocked-out tooth).
- A lost crown on a front tooth, or one that left the tooth sensitive.
- Bleeding that won't stop after a recent extraction.
A small chip that doesn't hurt, or a slightly loose filling that doesn't hurt, can usually wait for a weekday.
If it starts after 2:00 PM on Sunday
Call anyway. A real person answers, takes your details and holds Monday's first opening at 7:00 AM. Then:
- Rinse with warm salt water and keep the area clean.
- Use a cold pack on your cheek, 15 minutes on and 15 off, for swelling.
- Take over-the-counter pain relievers only as the label directs and if they're safe for you.
- Sleep with your head raised on an extra pillow.
Go to a hospital emergency room if swelling is spreading toward your eye or down your neck, if you have a high fever, or if breathing or swallowing is hard. The closest one to our office is Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital West on W Boynton Beach Blvd. Hospitals manage the danger, but they generally don't treat the tooth itself. The ADA's MouthHealthy page on dental emergencies and the Mayo Clinic's toothache first-aid guide both cover what to do at home in the meantime.
Does a Sunday visit cost more?
No. Sunday visits cost the same as any weekday visit. For patients paying without insurance, the emergency exam and X-ray are $99, and any treatment is quoted in writing before we start.
The $99 is a minimum fee for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam (ADA code D0140) and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.
We accept most PPO and HMO dental plans and Medicare Advantage dental plans, and offer in-house payment plans plus Sunbit, Cherry and CareCredit financing. See cost and insurance.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to call before coming in on a Sunday?
Yes, please call first. We don't take walk-ins on any day. A quick call lets us hold a Sunday time and have a room and a dentist ready, so you aren't waiting when you arrive.
What if I can't get in before 2:00 PM on Sunday?
Call us anyway. A person answers after hours, takes your details and holds Monday's 7:00 AM opening. If swelling affects breathing or swallowing, go to the ER first.
Are you open on Saturday too?
Yes. Saturday hours are also 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and weekday hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. See our same-day dentist page for how appointments work.
